This has been one of my favorite quotes for years. But it’s more than just books. To me, it’s always been about the words. Whether in poetry, books, music, a quote, or speech. Words matter. They can change your mind, close your mind, open yourself up to something you never thought about, heal, hurt, mislead, educate, and show how far you’ve come-or not. So much power. There’s an integrity to it all. An authenticity that makes everything I read mean something. (Sometimes more than it’s intended.) But I wouldn’t change it because there’s something valuable I can learn and take from every word.
